TNEA 2015

I still remember the day I spent in the campus of this esteemed university a year ago, looking at the students wearing the prestigious tag and rushing to attend their class. The picture still remains fresh in my mind. However, as the famous saying ‘ Time and tide waits for no man’ goes, time did fly very fast that now I find myself walking amongst the students wearing the prestigious tag myself and notice my fellow students looking at my tag with gleaming eyes and a sense of yearn. Who knows! Some of them might be studying in my department or travelling in the same bus as I to reach college in the days to come as the most awaited time of the year for the students who have just completed their 12th std board exams has arrived. The shed has gone up once again and yes it’s counselling time at Anna University. July 1 marked the commencement of TNEA 2015.

There is not much need to tell about the counselling process as all of us have gone through this phase. Yet, apart from the application forms, counselling call letters, long queues and the adrenalin rush which haunts the students till they get placed, there are many other things to be noted at the time of counselling.

Well what primarily strikes me is the crowd which can be compared to a Sunday shopping in the busiest streets of T.Nagar. People from various parts of the state can be seen here for the next 30 days. Just like the counselling arena the canteens are equally crowded as people rush to taste the delicious food provided in our campus. Well that is for food, what about the beverages? Not to worry because we have the Aavin booth for that right next to the counselling hall. There are also small outlets of ‘Gourmet’s basket’ and our very own CEG canteen near the entrance. With all this in shape the counselling period is similar to a carnival in terms of crowd and food but for the aspirants it is the initial step in their quest to reach success in their profession.
